The Military Interdepartmental Purchase Request
(MIPR) is a funding source document used by the military and is one of
the primary methods by which customer requirements are funded. The requesting
party completes the MIPR document (DD Form 448) with all of the relevant
information related to the items requested and sends this document to
the performing party typically by way of fax or perhaps some other mail
channel. The performer will then complete the acceptance document (DD
Form 448-2) which contains information regarding how the request will
be accepted (or not) and how the items requested will be provided. This
document will then be sent back to the original requestor (again, by way
of fax or some other mail channel). PMADS makes the process of creating and sending MIPRs and MIPR responses fast and efficient by allowing these documents to be completed within PMADSee and sent electronically to other PMADS users/project offices or other eMIPR client users. These electronic MIPR documents (eMIPRs) are created using data obtained from HTML forms (which gathers the same data as you would see on the aforementioned forms 448 and 448-2) and are then sent back and forth using the SOAP/HTTP transport and various web services which exist on the core PMADS eMIPR server (which contains the eMIPR “router”). This capability allows the MIPRs and their responses to be viewed and responded to almost immediately after they are sent, removing the overhead of faxing (or worse, traditional mail services). MIPR status (whether a MIPR has been approved, rejected, or is in a pending state) is also tracked in PMADS. In addition to the document communication component, PMADS allows its users to generate Forms 448 and 448-2 directly from these HTML forms. These documents can then be printed out (or saved in soft-copy form) for documentation purposes. Using PMADS, never have another lost, misrouted, or delayed MIPR action again. Electronically send a MIPR to and receive a MIPR from any organization anywhere in the world. Subscribe user organizations you do business with for MIPR routing and for MIPR status notification. Business office funding officers as well as technical points of contact are automatically notified as to when a MIPR is sent, received, accepted, funded. |
