Most Army offices these days, particularly PM offices with systems in theater, are operating in a whirlwind environment. Requirements change frequently, managing cash flow from various sources of funding is critical, and of course there are always the data calls/suspense's that come out of no where that were due yesterday. Without a business system, organizations are forced to relying on sets of patch worked systems that consist of; legacy systems, spread sheets, and customized data bases. Ad-hoc processes vary from organization to organization and are held together by the people charged with delivering on the mission. If a key person is out of the office, or worse yet departs the organization, operations can suffer and even come to a stand still. With war fighters depending on our service and support to them, this method of business operations no longer remains viable. PMADS puts your organization in control of its business operations. It enables a business process to occur in a controlled role-based fashion. To achieve this, PMADS provides the framework for competing views (technical and financial) to be satisfied through an integrated collaborative environment. Stakeholders are empowered to operate at an increased operational tempo. The PMADS framework allows for role-based users to be established. These roles determine how individuals interact with the system and other users. People can have multiple roles. PMADS delivers the robust flexibility to allow your organization to determine how to best configure and operate to achieve the management controls, visibility, and decision making support that you deem most important. In short, PMADS works like this; Mission requirements that need to be funded are identified and entered by technical stakeholders. Once entered and submitted asking for approval to fund, the project manager/approving authority is notified via email by PMADS EventCast that a task requirement has been submitted requesting approval. Collaboration between the technical person and the project manager can occur in order to achieve approval or the project manager can approval without discussion. The business office is notified via EventCast that a task requirement has been approved for adding to the execution plan and for funding. All stakeholders have role-based access and visibility over the entire life-cycle of a task. Technical people are empowered with access to the information they need in order to monitor and manage the task. Project managers are given visibility over pending requirements, plans, and tasks that are being executed. This serves to deliver a critically effective method by which to manage cash flow. Business office/resource management personnel gain a business system that gives them the edge they need to proactively advise and manage the overall flow of the business operations. |
